The Senior Accountant furthers the company's goals through the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow, as well as the creation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of audits, and management of internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Construction/Logistics field. The company provides a flexible work schedule, with the ability to work a 3/2 or 2/3 hybrid schedule.

Your responsibilities

- Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

- Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

- Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

- Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

Requirements

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Experience with ERP systems

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

- Understanding of SOX

- General ledger experience preferred

- Public Accounting experience desired

- Account reconciliation experience preferred

- 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience, or audit with a CPA firm

- Prior work done in public accounting is desired

- Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- Exceptional time management skills preferred

- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
