Need licensed chemical dependency for Day IOP

Job Description

This position is located in Gessner- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serving adults, and adolescents.

Candidate must be able/willing to train in Houston for a few weeks.

Hours may vary between 8am-5pm and 12pm-9pm

Position responsible for providing chemical dependency counseling and chemical dependency education for residential, partial and IOP patients and their families; for providing case management services; communicating and working with all clinical staff, utilization review specialists, managed care organizations and referral sources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the State of Texas.

2. Has worked as a licensed chemical dependency counselor in the United States for at least 7 years OR has a Masters Degree in a counseling related field (MSW, MA in Psychology, etc.) and at least 4 years experience as a chemical dependency counselor.

3. Has at least 2 years experience of clinical program management in an intensive outpatient, residential or inpatient program setting.

4. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Proficient in facilitating treatment from the screening process through discharge planning according to the age/needs of the patient population for an average caseload of ten.
2. Proficient in facilitating individual sessions, process groups, patient and family education lectures.
3. Proficient in recording all pertinent patient information including individual and family sessions, Master Treatment Plan updates, and any other significant incidents daily.
4. Ensuring the safe care of patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care according to the DSHS Code of Ethics, and within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.
5. Proficient in crisis management, motivational interviewing, life skills training, working directly with Employee Assistance Professionals, attending Return to Work meetings, and all corresponding paperwork.
6. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory continuing education, skills competency; and supports department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization.
