Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $500 sign-on bonus to entry-level TRADE new hires. In addition, NNS is offering $1000 in relocation to entry-level TRADE new hires that live 50 miles or greater from Newport News, VA. Job seekers who apply until March 31, 2022 are eligible for the sign-on and relocation bonus. Responsibilities will include removing excess metal from castings via torch, arc air, grinder or cut off saw. Also responsible for removing defective material from the casting in preparation for the weld repair.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test. Must be able to work indooors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions. Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs. Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.
