SUMMARY
The Director, Human Resources (HR) will serve as the primary HR Leader partnering with the Chief Investments Officer/Chief Financial Officer (CIO/CFO) and his leadership team to drive business outcomes through the development of and execution against appropriate people priorities. This leadership position will work with and supervise a Human Resource Business Partner and will be an integral part of the CIO/CFO leadership team as well as the Genworth HR Leadership team. This position will work from Genworth’s Stamford, CT location with periodic travel to Richmond, VA.
RESPONSIBILITES
Primary HR partner for Genworth’s Corporate CIO/CFO and leadership team
Work closely with and supervise Human Resource Business Partner position to ensure HR needs are met for assigned client groups
Drive HR activities for assigned client groups. This includes implementation of core HR strategies and processes such as compensation, benefits and payroll, HR policies and practices, staffing, training and development, communication, and community relations
Diversity, Engagement, and Inclusion: In partnership with corporate Diversity and Inclusion team, provide oversight and guidance to ensure assigned client group maintains an inclusive workplace through programs, Employee Resources Groups, and training.
Talent Development: In partnership with corporate Talent Development team, ensure programs are in place to ensure a culture of ongoing learning and development
Strategic HR support: Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establish human resources strategy and goals aligned with business goals and strategies.
Organization effectiveness: Work with clients to determine the best interventions to drive high performance levels and enhance team effectiveness. Supply front-end analysis of performance issues to develop potential solutions. Facilitate implementation of solutions and monitor effectiveness.
Coaching: Supply coaching and mentoring to associates and leaders within designated client group
Talent Acquisition: In partnership with the recruiters, interview and help select candidates who best fit the company's needs
Employee Relations: Identify, evaluate, and resolve employee relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns. Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions
Change Management: Provide coaching/consulting on change initiatives to drive organizational change and enhance business performance
Compliance: Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements
Culture: Partner with leadership to ensure programs and practices align to the desired culture of the organization. Implement activities that drive employee engagement
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
8 or more years of experience in HR Client Management
2 or more years of experience managing others
Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader HR Team
Demonstrated track record of employee advocacy and strategic business partnership
Demonstrated experience in building rapport and trusting relationships with all organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and high attention to detail
Demonstrated track record of delivering high impact solutions to meet business needs
Demonstrated negotiation, coaching, interpersonal and communication skills
