SUMMARY
This position is responsible for analysis of current and projected material requirements to support construction demand company wide. Establish requisition quantities that will support construction, maintain inventory turns, and control inventory costs. Authorize, monitor, control and update the system for material issues. Prepare and monitor material transfers. Assist with the development of procedures and performance measures used for continuous process improvements which will reduce material costs and improve efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Cut requisitions and manage safety stock for the assigned commodity.
Analyze material requirements vs. inventory and purchase orders to ensure material will be available when needed.
Perform material transfers.
Process lost and damaged material paperwork.
Generate reports and Production Summaries.
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate, plus two (2) years of directly related Materials analysis experience.
Working knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) systems.
Reports to the Supervisor of Material Control.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to climb on and around ships, including stairs, ladders, masts, and scaffolding. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, welding/burning fumes, and smoke. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Performs assigned tasks in accordance with schedule and budget commitments. Completes all tasks with high quality.
