Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyzing medical benefit plan characteristics for new business and renewal customers
Analyzing group risk and projecting future claims utilizing established underwriting criteria and policies to apply proper rating methodologies
Pricing standard and custom benefit plans
Negotiating rates and plan options to optimize cost-competitive medical benefit plans
This opening in the Underwriting team would support both Small Business and Key Accounts.
This role is office based in Minnetonka, MN or Telecommute.
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience underwriting either Fully Insured or Self-Funded medical benefits
Fully Insured underwriting with some exposure to Self-Funded underwriting
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel
Strong financial analysis, problem solving and critical decision-making skills
Ability to work and manage a pipeline of business independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Finance, Business, or related degree
Experience working with sales partners
Effective personal communication skills in the areas of listening, speaking, and writing
Effective organizational skills
