As Assistant Controller I, you'll assist in the direction and administration of our financial operations, oversee budget-related preparation and review, and manage one or more accounting departments.

We are looking for:
- a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, accounting systems, or a related field
- extensive experience managing / supervising in a broad range of accounting and finance

What is the work?
Leadership / Management:
- Assists in the direction and administration of the organization-s financial operations
- Manages preparation / review of budgets and other financial operating reports
- May manage one or more accounting departments
- Focuses on Partner development and goal-setting; mentors Partners; understands individual strengths and areas of opportunity to help facilitate development
- Provides Partners opportunity, training, and experience to expand their knowledge, skills, and careers

- Ensures budgets are based on valid assumptions and appropriate business models
- Identifies major issues and trends in financial / operating reports; recognizes their general implications for the business; evaluates business opportunities to make strategic choices that effectively mitigate financial risks and leverage trends
- Integrates information from various sources to gain a broad understanding of issues and align people, systems, processes, and plans to achieve the greatest impact on H-E-B
- Understands / communicates how work activities impact other areas of the business and the financial implications of decisions
- Applies understanding of work systems, processes, and organizational policies to problem-solving and decision-making
- Communicates with / presents to a wide variety of audiences at all levels

What is your background?
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, accounting systems, or a related field
- 15+ years of management / supervisory experience in a broad range of accounting and finance disciplines (preferred)
- Experience working with multiple H-E-B systems
