Organization Overview:
The QC Lean Coach is responsible for managing the application and integration of lean six sigma and key continuous improvement processes and tools across Branchburg Quality Control. The Lean Coach has a deep knowledge of QC operations, good business acumen and strong interest in continuous improvement in business systems.
The QC Lean Coach reports directly to the V.P. Quality Control with dotted line to the site Lean Six Sigma Champion.
Responsibilities:
Lead launch events to train Lean ambassadors and support deployment of Lean in assigned process areas
Partner with leadership to ensure all employees are part of the Lean journey
Serve as ongoing Lean coach ensuring the discipline to sustain Lean remains in place
Assist the QC department in the application of Lean principles, tools, and methodologies
Assess areas already deployed to promote ongoing continuous improvement of lean deployment
Contribute to the Lean program design, developing elements which are common across quality control
Be a visible advocate, educator and communicator for the Lean deployment and Continuous Improvement Mindset across quality control
Ensure lean principles and tools are integrated into both project execution and solution design
Capture benefits of Lean program and celebrate successes
Conduct benchmarking activities with other quality control laboratories inside and outside of Lilly. Identify and apply best practices in internal processes.
Organize and maintain meetings with the laboratory staff, review the status of projects and improvement initiatives.
Collaborate in the management of the budget of the expenses and capital expenditures of the laboratory.
Drive the weekly agenda and strategic delivery of Lean topics

As needed, represent QC in Continuous Improvement and MSOE Governance Teams
Maintain and strengthen cross-functional expertise
Timely collect data to update departmental metrics helping QC achieve productivity targets, reduce cost of analysis, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent service to our stakeholders
Analyze metrics to drive improvement
Eliminate barriers that may impact on the achievement of the identified projects.
Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
Lead special projects for and on behalf of QC
Designs, implements and monitors a system of measures of operational excellence, productivity, capacity and compliance for the Quality Control Laboratory
Collaborates in the preparation of the BP of the laboratory
Collaborates in achieving business results, in compliance with quality and HSE requirements
Basic Requirements:
BS in science related field
Requires 3+ years of pharmaceutical leadership/mentoring experience and CCI Coach Certification upon completion of training.
