Job Responsibilities

This position is part of the Livermore High Volume Manufacturing Engineering group on the Industrial Engineering team. This role will support electromechanical fixture design and engineering for new product introductions to volume manufacturing.

The selected candidate will support manufacturing by building and validating safe, functional, and cost effective fixturing. This engineer will interface with design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems. As part of the industrial engineering team this role will also be responsible to develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Use Siemens NX CAD software to design and build custom electromechanical fixturing for assembly and test that is safe, functional, and cost effective.

• Implement and sustain custom robotics and human-assistive automation to provide ergonomic, poka-yoke solutions for assembly and test related tasks.

• Implement industry standard process control techniques such as six sigma/lean manufacturing and value stream mapping to manage and develop production efficiencies.

• Design and conduct experiments and tests pertaining to the resolution to complex technical problems.

• Acquire and apply basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems.

• Continuously focused on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods.

• Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action and Failure Modes Effects Analysis on defects and escalations

• Leads, and is personally accountable for, high profile project timelines and milestones.

• Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, assuring proper release and hand-off of solutions.

• Generate clear and concise reports to justify your technical recommendations.

• Act as liaison for cross functional projects across organizations to include build verifies, product transition reviews, and design reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.

• Creative thinking and strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, including experience in the areas of mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.

• Solid understanding of statistical process control and basic statistical analysis used in production setting.

• Solid understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes.

• Ability to complete projects and learn the required skills with minimal guidance.

• Previous experience in individual project management.

• Prior experience with MS office tools (ppt, excel, project), statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, Matlab, R, Python etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in project management.

• Previous experience in new product introduction.

• Experience working in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry.

• Lean/Six Sigma Experience.

• Executive verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
