What you’ll do:
Apply software design principles and/or design to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions.
Prototype basic flows to tackle customer needs and collaborate with multi-functional design and research peers to deliver optimally.
Understand user-centered research practices and read through and implement UX Design documents.
Collaborate with team members, particularly design counterparts, to co-develop and tackle problems.
Understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.
Participate in a community of practice to share and gain knowledge.
Develop and test sophisticated software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
Use your understanding of software frameworks and how to write simpler code and can use this knowledge when leading code reviews.
Identify design system components capable of being inner sourced out to the larger organization.
Recognize areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offers suggestions for improvements.
Seek out and work to understand customer needs, motivations and challenges.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
3+ years of experience in software design
Own an online portfolio that illustrates a holistic user experience skill set (please provide a link to your portfolio and passwords, where relevant)
Design and craft software that is easily testable and observable, and you have experience in testing, debugging and monitoring your own code.
Experience utilizing standard methodologies for web- and mobile-based applications, while balancing qualitative and quantitative and business goals that support your design rationale
Strong presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to analytically defend design decisions
Experience with visual and UI design skills as well as the capacity for building engaging, highly usable, and intuitive designs and layouts, with a propensity towards simplification
Skilled in HCI methodologies and usability principles
Proficiency in Figma
