Job Summary

The Logistics Support Analyst (LSA) uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes for transportation related activities. The LSA is responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support the North American Logistics Managers. The individual will coordinate and support transportation activities to achieve cost and service effective results.  Assignments will require a close and effective working relationship with a broad range of people such as operations, materials, purchasing, IT, finance, suppliers, transportation providers, and consultants. 

Job Function and Responsibilities

Work independently with end-users and business partners to assess the business requirements, match these requirements to objectives and guide them to the applicable processes and products including developing plans, specifications and enhancements that will achieve the business goals
Manage data in SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Access
Design, build and maintain data collection repositories supporting logistics
Capable of handling challenging IT/data system
Prioritize and determine feasibility of alternative solutions to current supply chain processes
Support the monitoring of key performance indicators and analyze performance data to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiative
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual summaries of results, accomplishments and future plans
Provide on-going analysis to determine the most efficient, economical routing, and mode of transportation
Support Site Managers with analyzing the transportation aspects of various sourcing events and cost analysis
Resident Logistics Expert supporting the AGCO Grain & Protein division
Responsible for knowledge of all logistics position to assist where needed, including TMS

Support:

Annual Freight Spend of $77.1 Million

Seek overall reduction of freight spend

Generate weekly payment files from iTMS and payment sites

Append files to access data base
Provide KPI’s on items such as SUR rates, general ledger account coding, spot quotes, steel reports, or other reports as deemed by management
Maintain AGCO Grain & Protein scorecard
Maintain reports on costs by lane, mode, carrier, etc

Support Logistics Team on cost savings

Study, recommend, implement cost savings ideas
Present business case to Finance Manager

Support Department Manager

Perform freight studies
Assist the Coding of freight bills
SUR rate analysis
Make graphs, charts, maps as required
Recommend Supply Chain improvement of software, solutions, etc.

Perform Freight Studies and make recommendations based off those studies
Spot rate quote for domestic and international as needed
Find new transportation providers
Stay current on market trends
Support all Logistics activities to include international data

Transportation Management System

Super User

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Carrier management (tariff loading, removal etc), Issuing Login Info for Suppliers
Generate reports for KPI’s
Update TMS FSC weekly
Facilitate online Supplier Trainings
Maintain rates, accessorials, carrier contracts
Keep updated on day to day operations within TMS

Facilitate TL RFP

Launch RFP’s to carriers, receive rates back, analyze rates
Upload rates in TMS
Manage 100+ carriers, including LTL, TL and Freight Forwarders

Determine Carrier scorecard

Develop scorecards to measure carrier success
Monitor carrier performance
Improve services

Determine Supplier iTMS compliance

Monitor supplier performance
Improve compliance

ESSENTIAL SKILLS 

Minimum Qualifications

0-3 years’ experience in data management and analytics
Strong familiarity with SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Access required
Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and opportunities for improvement  Writes and communicates ideas in a clear manner
Strong abilities with the tools utilized in data analysis and related software implementation.

Education

B.A. or B.S. degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related discipline or 5+ years’ experience in supply chain

Experience

Capable of handling IT/data system, file storage, and develop sophisticated/user friendly dashboards.
Access, Excel, Tableau, Teams, and advance computer skills
Strong problem solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills to resolve issues.

Preferred Qualifications

A solid understanding of web technologies, relational databases and multi-tier applications is expected
PowerPoint presentation skills a plus
Exposed to the concept of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
