Job Summary:
Working directly with the Human Resources leadership team, you'll be responsible for creating effective, consistent and compelling messaging in support of our strategic business objectives. You'll work side by side with the Chief People Officer, providing strategic communications support, updates, and counsel. You'll have a pulse on what's top of mind for our employees and use those insights to create engaging communications programs that help employees feel connected with each other, company leadership, and Avnet employees across the globe.
Principal Responsibilities:
Internal communications: Develop and implement a global HR communications strategy in support of and closely align with Avnet corporate strategy - including planning, logistics, and content development for employee meetings and events.
Executive communications: Work closely with global HR executives on messaging strategy, development, and delivery across all mediums, preparing senior leaders for presentations (town halls, team meetings, etc) to help ensure narratives are consistent and effective.
Employee engagement: Communicate and coordinate internal programs, such as benefits, learning & development, recruiting, and change management.
Writing and content development: Create compelling, relevant, timely content, stories, emails, and messaging; proof and edit; and manage HR's intranet sites.
Global alignment: As a member of the Avnet Global Internal Communications team, you'll ensure strategy and content aligns with Avnet global communications strategy and messaging.

Demonstrated working knowledge of a variety of communications tools and techniques, including those for print and online publications, social media, web-based, video and marketing collateral.
Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable and successful internal communications programs, materials, and messaging.
Understanding of HR principles is a plus.
Self-starter and proactive; able to work independently and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced agile environment.
Demonstrated experience in developing complex communications strategies and deploying them across global diverse employee populations.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Publisher), as well as other communications tools such as SharePoint.
Work Experience:
A minimum of 6-9 years proven experience designing and implementing internal communication strategies; experience with HR communications is preferred.
Education and Certification(s):
A bachelors degree in English, communications, journalism, business, liberal arts or related discipline or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience.
