Mechanical Engineer

Northrop Grumman Marine systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development and ongoing support of new and existing steam turbine designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy. Must be able to apply engineering principles and industry practice in the design of assigned turbine components and subsystems. Must be able to develop design concepts, perform trade studies, and conduct supporting evaluations and analyses. Will participate in detail design, drawing development, design reviews, release for manufacture, and follow through test and production phases. Will prepare and present formal technical briefings as required.

Principal Mechanical Engineer

 Qualifications

Mechanical Engineer

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimumo of 2 (two) years experience, or Master's Degree with 0 years experience is required.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in an interactive.
Experience working in a team environment.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large rotating machinery and/or turbo machinery design.

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with steam turbine and component design.
