Job Description

Integrate pre-built control panels into equipment skids with multiple electrical enclosures, following electrical schematics, component wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

• Wire low voltage circuits (4-20mA analog signals, 5-32V DC power/signals, modbus serial and ethernet communications) and higher voltage circuits (100-260V AC single & 3-phase – power cords and servo motors)

• Install and wire door-mounted and side-mounted components (pilot devices, displays, cable entries/seals, etc.) on stainless steel frames/enclosures. Mount additional components onto panels (drill and tap) as needed.

• Work with the assembly team to assist with the installation of mechanical components of skid as needed.

• Perform quality check, perform hipot test, start-up equipment, and troubleshoot (as necessary)

• Follow work instructions to initialize the PLC, HMI, servo drives, and other components

• Perform electrical schematic walkdown with customer during Factory Acceptance Testing, and redline the schematic as needed

• Assist with final troubleshooting and completing any electrical changes or rework, as part of Factory Acceptance Test.

• Perform quality checks of UL 508A control panels from outside vendor

• Perform all work in accordance with applicable quality industry standards (e.g. NEC, UL 508, etc.) and established safety procedures (e.g. NFPA 70E, Lock-Out-Tag-Out, etc.)

• Occasionally, troubleshoot and/or repair/upgrade manufacturing equipment, as needed

• Occasionally, add new electrical drops and run network cables for facilities, as needed

• Travel to customer sites (less than 10%) for skid electrical and automation upgrade, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities

• 2+ years’ prior experience in wiring PLC-automated equipment skids. Reading, following, and revising rung-style electrical schematics is required.
