Position Overview
The System Treaty Analyst analyze and interpret legal documents (of routine to medium complexity) to determine how to incorporate the treaty agreement into the GARE computer system. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of GARE system treaties and rate parameters. Analyze business submitted by electronic medium to identify tape and plan code inaccuracies and provide solutions on all system treaty issues.
Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret legal documents of routine to medium complexity to determine how to incorporate the agreement into the GARE computer system. (Treaty Load)
Research and analyze the more routine requests made by other associates related to system treaty changes and make changes as appropriate explaining any request denials in a professional and client friendly manner. (Log request and e-mails)
Analyze business submitted electronically. Create/update/change system treaty tape codes and plan codes to ensure accurate electronic data processing. (Tape Conversions)
Audit and resolve existing inconsistencies by ensuring that system treaty language complies with the most current amendments to legal documents, often requires the use of SQL reports. (Treaty/Policy Reviews)
Research and analyze requests made by the Valuation department to ensure accurate and efficient administration resulting in sound financial reporting.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience in reinsurance
2-5 years experience in reinsurance
Preferred:
Progress toward FLMI, ALHC or other relevant professional accreditation
Skills and Abilities
Required:
Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills
Intermediate SQL and Query skills
Basic knowledge of accounting
Ability to read and interpret treaty language, and to apply it appropriately
Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
Intermediate oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload
Intermediate investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects
Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
Preferred:
Advanced Query skills
Ability to pass LOMA ARA exam within one year and to achieve ARA designation within two years
