Job Description
Job Summary:
This position is responsible assisting in the preparation of the financial statements for period reporting and the financial statements and footnotes for the audits. The job is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC and reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. Any travel would be minimal.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review the financial statements for period reporting to the C-Office
Prepare and review the financial statements and footnotes for year-end audits
Ensure accuracy and completeness of eliminations for the various consolidations
Ensure the accounting for intangible assets, environmental, pensions, and equity accounts are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Analyze financial statement differences from prior year or period over period
Work with both divisions and international associates to develop reports to help them analyze their financial information
Responsible for census reporting
Research GAAP matters as needed
Qualifications - Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Qualifications – Preferred:
SAP experience
Public accounting experience
Accounting experience with manufacturing companies
The successful candidate will demonstrate strengths in the following:
Oral and written communications, including group presentations
Ability to handle multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, shows initiative, and is self-motivated
