Primary Responsibilities
* Performs all nursing duties within the scope of a licensed vocational/practical nurse as determined by the applicable state board of nursing
* Participates in implementing established education plans for patients and their families with common health problems and well-defined learning needs
* Coordinates patient care as directed by providers, RNs, and policies including referrals, transition visits, medications, procedures, and follow up
* Documents chief complaint and rooms patients according to policy and procedures
* Collects data and performs focused nursing assessment of patients
* Telephonically obtains information on chief complain and symptoms and accurately relays information to provider
* Ensures patient confidentiality (HIPAA) at all times and treats patients with courtesy and respect
* Practices standard infection control precautions
* Fulfills medication refill requests and appropriately documents medication and immunizations in patient records
* If IV certified starts peripheral lines, monitors and adjusts flow rates, prime IV lines, changes dressing on IV sites if needed and discontinues venous lines

Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED
* Current and unrestricted state practical/vocational nursing license
* 1 year of experience working as a licensed practical/vocational nurse
* Current BLS certification
* Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures
* Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records
* If required by clinic, IV certification must be obtained
* This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctors diagnosis of disease.
* You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained
Preferred Qualifications
* Bilingual English/Spanish
* 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
* Customer service experience
* IV certification
* Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding

* Good listening and communication skills
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with providers/staff, patients and the community
* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change
