We are looking for a highly talented, self-motivated and analytical individual to join the Global Financial Crimes and Consumer Protection Analytics Infrastructure and Operations Team (GFCCPA-IO). The Rule Engineer will be responsible for the development, validation, and monitoring of GFCCPA systems, rules, jobs, models, and processes. This person will help to assure the integrity of data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, and processing with an emphasis on monitoring blockchain transactions.
Responsibilities
The position will work closely with the GFCCPA Rules Developers and Analysts to ensure delivery and operations of effective solutions to support GFCC rule and job functions, including rule and job development, rule and job execution environments and GFCCPA infrastructure.
This person will also need to coordinate with external service providers, specifically third-party monitoring services to integrate their offerings into PayPals monitoring platform.
An expert understanding of SQL and ETL processes is required, intermediate experience with a scripting language (Python, VB Script, Windows PowerShell, JavaScript, etc) is required.
Experience with Linux and Windows OS is preferred.
Qualifications
Experience with Google Cloud Platform/Big Query a plus
Experience with crypto currencies, crypto exchange and/or blockchain development
5+ years experience in database design and data modeling
5+ years experience developing scripted jobs, ODBC, file manipulation & ETL
Ability and willingness to learn new systems, technology and skills required
Proficient with SQL and expertise writing complex queries (Teradata, MySQL or other RDBMS)
Understanding of money laundering concepts and techniques
Exposure to analytics and modeling
Experience with query optimization
Minimum of five years business experience, with at least three of those years in a business development-related role
Experience developing with VB Script, JavaScript or other scripting language
Experience with Teradata, Teradata SQL Assistant, MySQL or other relational database and tools
Experience with data modeling, ETL development and other data warehousing
Experience with Linux command line is a plus
Experience with Windows server administration is a plus
Experience in Risk or Compliance a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
