Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor role at the WTI, Largo facility oversees and coordinates maintenance and repair of facility and operations equipment, including electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and other building systems. They are responsible for evaluating problematic systems, machines or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. Maintenance-related duties include performing initial evaluations of these systems and distributing work assignments.
The Maintenance Supervisor also organizes schedules and assigns work activity. They may perform training to ensure individuals have all the requisite skills. Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing maintenance procedures and maintaining personnel records. The Maintenance Supervisor evaluates employees performance to ensure quality operations and investigate incidents and prepare relevant reports. They also are responsible to plan, design and implement capital projects for plant changes and improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Assign, supervise, and check work operations of maintenance employees.
* Plans, organizes, schedules, and manages maintenance work on machinery and facilities.
* Participate in recruitment and training of new employees; establish maintenance procedures and communicate safety practices.
* Provide guidance, training, feedback and annual performance reviews to maintenance team members.
* Develop maintenance schedules and coordinate completion of tasks for buildings and equipment and prioritize level of maintenance orders.
* Assign work orders to maintenance employees, review and approve hours.
* Develop and oversee implementation of preventative maintenance program.
* Research causes of ongoing or repetitive maintenance problems and implement corrective programs.
* Maintain maintenance logs for equipment servicing and inform team members and superiors of the status of all maintenance jobs.
* Inspect production equipment, repair equipment, lay out plumbing, perform electrical work, test all new equipment, build frames and stand for fabrication and development projects.
* Manage the timely delivery, distribution and efficient use of energy/power used in the plant, including electric, gas, compressed air, water and sewer.
* Coordinate the study of process and equipment to improve safety, quality, cost, working conditions and efficiency.
* Respond and prioritize maintenance requests and resolve major maintenance related problems to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
* Design and build machines and prepare drawings and sketches for equipment detail.
* Research problems involving equipment specifications, performance standards and related documentation.
* Conduct inventories of parts and materials; purchase and maintain records.
* Validate fulfillment of vendor contract specifications for new and modified machinery, equipment, facility improvements, etc.
* Coordinate outside services and construction work.
* Establish and plan capital budgets for plant.
* Work on design and construction of major projects for the plant.
* Order major maintenance equipment using requisitions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience / Education
* Educational attainment equivalent to high school education plus broad vocational training and experience in equipment and facility maintenance within a production environment
* Prefer educations past High School education
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
* Broad knowledge of the following areas: electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatics, building and facility maintenance systems, mechanics and electronic control systems such as PLC controls
* Knowledge and responsibility of equipment and facility maintenance
* Knowledge of building and equipment safety rules and practices including applicable OSHA, DOT and EPA Standards and Regulations
* Supervisory and leadership principles and practices
* Ability to trouble shoot major equipment and facility maintenance problems
* Ability to direct leads and staff to employ corrective procedures
* Ability to prioritize and interpret work requests and work orders
* Ability to organize, plan and schedule preventative and ongoing maintenance work to avoid disruption of production operations
* Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including staff, vendors and management
Special Requirements
* Ability to travel to facilities
* Ability to work flexible schedules when required
