JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY
As part of the of Product Marketing team, the Product Manager leads their branded business in developing and recommending the strategy along with all the activities in managing the product line with the end user. This includes product stewardship: monitor and support existing products, maintain differentiation, quality, competitive advantage, and industry leadership; along with the introduction of new products to provide solutions to consumers unmet needs. Additionally, the product manager must monitor the profitability of their businesses. They are also responsible for driving meaningful growth for their product lines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop annual brand/business plans for respective product lines
* Initiate new research as well as analyze existing research for product benchmarking and end user insights
* Partner with Marketing Shared Services and guide/approve activities to generate end user demand for key product lines
* Maintain superior product quality
* Analyze, research, and execute remedies for product performance issues, working closely with Customer Care, R&D, Color Lab and Quality
* Competitive product landscape analysis and benchmarking at the SKU level
* Including competitive companies strategy, and core capabilities
* Assist in planning and strategy development for customer line reviews and category business reviews
* Work with Marketing Shared Services and Training Team to support how-to videos, sales training, and related initiatives
EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION
* A holistic and strategic mindset, and that can partner effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, channel marketing, supply chain, R&D, finance, sales operations and more
* Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES
* Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner that is business process focused
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multi-task
* An analytical and data-driven mindset when making decisions
* The high energy required to become an industry expert and the willingness to develop cross-functional knowledge beyond just the marketing function.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
* May be occasionally required to travel out of state to attend meetings, functions and professional development seminars
