Job Description

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for facilitating and leading continuous improvement projects and be a leader of change. Must be comfortable working with all levels within the organization. Must be able to question the status quo and be an excellent communicator. Will be responsible for managing and leading continuous improvement projects, launch new products as well as mentoring and coaching all lean processes.

* Manage a portfolio of site Kaizen and LSS projects through proper implementation and tracking of performance measures and impacts both financial and cultural.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives.
* Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams; focusing on measurable quality, service, and cost improvement.
* Drive a continuous improvement program that focuses on reducing process waste.
* Design and build robust scalable processes for new products
* Conduct time studies to create a steady-state workflow
* Train, coach and motivate personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques.
* Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.
* Assist in setting annual operational targets and help drive improvements to achieve those targets.



Required Skills

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

* Excellent knowledge, both written and spoken, of the English language.
* Knowledge of MS Project, proficient in use of Excel, Power Point, Word, Auto-Cad and ability to interact with shop floor control systems.
* Ability to demonstrate self-management; to work as part of a team, to take a leadership role.
* Pro-active thinking, ability and willingness to continually learn.
* Must possess critical and logical analysis skills along with strong communication, leadership and influencing skills.

Required Experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree preferred
* Formal training in Lean Methods and 5S preferred.
* Black Belt preferred or ability to achieve within first year of role.
* Related experience in a heavily regulated FDA or Medical Device environment preferred.
