What you'll do...

Walmart Fulfillment Services is looking for a Senior Director of Operations Management that has demonstrated experience building and leading large-scale operations. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive and succeed in a startup environment, and comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities. This means you are able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dive deep and dig in and get the job done. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus constraints. You need an ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

A key focus of this position is to partner with Supply Chain to design and implement operations strategies by providing leadership and bringing new ideas and innovative approaches to the organization within and across departments; converting the vision and strategy into understandable action plans; guiding and ensuring alignment of functional and departmental strategic business plans; developing a multi-year plan to provide visibility to expected performance improvement in profit and loss and customer experience; serving as a business and operations expert to advocate for customer experience as it relates to operations; and benchmarking the operations function against industry standards and consulting with the other companies to identify industry best practices.

Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships to oversee the execution of large-scale, complex projects including site expansion, work streams, and programs by managing and modifying associated project plans; creating and managing task timelines; organizing and facilitating communication materials to ensure successful rollouts and implementations; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing solutions and contingency plans for issues that have been escalated; adjusting direction based on project evaluation; and managing timelines.

Develops recommendations for decision support by sourcing, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data and information; providing influence and insight on current and future business trends; conducting analyses of initiatives to understand and communicate performance gaps; translating data analysis into recommendations aligned with business objectives; and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop processes and strategies that help meet business goals.

Directs the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; developing new innovations and tools; leveraging best practices from cross-functional partners to streamline and improve processes; analyzing and interpreting information for one or more initiative work streams to improve business efficiency; developing creative solutions within business areas to reduce costs and meet business goals; using knowledge and experience of the business to determine what activities must be done by serving as subject matter expert; collaborating with and influencing operations and other internal partners in support of strategies; and driving execution to meet key metrics.
Engages stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of activities and projects that generate revenue, offset operational expenses, mitigate loss, and increase customer satisfaction. Research and integrate information and data, apply business measures and analyses to identify improvement opportunities, analyze and interpret information by using various analytical methodologies to improve business efficiency and develop creative solutions using judgment to prioritize assignments.

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations , or related field and 6 years experience in operations, project
management, or related area OR 8 years experience in operations, project management, or related area.
4 years supervisory experience.
