Greer Stop Nut has been recognized for more than 50 years as a premier supplier of internally threaded locking fasteners. Operating out of a 90,000 square foot facility in Nashville, Tennessee, the Greer Stop Nut Locknut product portfolio consists of nylon insert hex, clinch, and spline nuts, plus a variety of allmetal nuts in standard and madetoorder configurations.
Greer Stop Nut Locknuts meet MS, MIL, AN and NAS specifications and are available in a variety of finishes, platings, and materials. The nylon insert material resists most organic acids, oils, greases and common solvents and mineral acids. The toughness and resiliency of the nylon insert withstand the highly abrasive action caused by nicked threads in mating fasteners, thereby increasing reliability and reducing downtime from failed installations.
Position Summary
Greer Stop Nut has an immediate 2nd Shift opening for an experienced CNC Machinist, skilled with Swissstyle screw machines. Key essentials for this role include: Working well in a Team environment, having a strong comprehension of GD&T and blue print reading, understanding Lean Manufacturing concepts, and utilizing SFM (speeds and feeds) to manufacture complex alloys.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
* Ensuring all CNC machines are producing quality parts throughout the entire manufacturing process
* Meeting all production schedules and deadlines
* Provide feedback and updates to Management on production metrics and goals
* Diagnose tool wear patterns and determine causes
* Provide input into product optimization
* Perform open bench quality inspections
Experience & Education
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have:
* At least one (1) or more years of prior CNC Machinist experience utilizing Swissstyle screw machine equipment. More than three (3) years of prior and relevant work history is strongly desired.
* Available to work a 2nd Shift with hours usually spanning from 2:30PM 12:00 AM Monday Friday and Saturdays from 12:30 PM 8:00 PM as needed.
* All candidates should have no less than a High School Diploma (or equivalent), however advanced education in a related field is strongly desired.
* Strong math skills are essential in this role.
Required Skills
This role requires a working knowledge of Swissstyle CNC screw machines. The ability to work in a Team setting and ensure a high standard of quality manufacturing is vital.
Desired Skills
Prior experience using Tsugami swissstyle machines is greatly desired. Experience with Haas, Doosan, and Cubic CNC equipment is a also a plus.
