Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is seeking a Financial Contract Setup Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals in McLean, Virginia. The selected candidate will leverage a growing knowledge of government contracting in a finance support role on the NGDS team.

This position is not for a Contracts Administrator, Billing Analyst, or Financial Analyst. This position will not be responsible for the administration of contracts, preparation and submission of invoices, or monitoring costs incurred against a US Government Contract.

This position will be responsible for understanding a contract issued by the US Government, and the basic downstream processes relating to the Contract, with a primary focus to ensure information entered in the SAP accounting system is compliant with the requirements of or information contained in the contract.

This position may also be filled at the Principal level.

Responsibilities:

* Reviews contractual and related documentation, and enters relevant information into SAP accounting system, to include, Contract Value and Funding, Period of Performance, etc.
* Creates contract-compliant charging structures in SAP accounting system to be used for collecting costs and facilitating the submission of invoices
* Interacts with Contract Administrators, Business Managers, Program Control / Financial Analysts, and Billing representatives on a daily basis via e-mail, telephone, or in person
* Reviews and interprets the content of the contract and ensures the contract data is properly entered into SAP and is consistent with the contract language
* Assists business management to align their reporting needs with the work breakdown structure being created
* Ensures the work breakdown structure is compatible with contractual billing requirements and coordinates with the billing team
* Operates in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail with little supervision
* Leverages foundational knowledge of contracts, network structures, and SAP to ensure data is entered into the accounting system of record and is in accordance with sector and enterprise procedures
* Contributes to and/or influences the submission of documentation, and the means of contract execution to ensure all information entered in the SAP accounting system is in accordance with the contract
* This baseline or ldquo;master data rdquo; entered in SAP supports external financial reporting, the submission of compliant invoices to the customer, and must meet contract deliverables for reporting costs in accordance with the terms of the contract
* Participates in various contract set up meetings to aid in resolution of charge codes, project structure and SAP issues
* Participates in special projects and audits as needed

Qualification

This position may be filled as either a Financial Contract Setup Analyst, or a Principal Financial Contract Setup Analyst.

Basic Qualifications for Financial Contract Setup Analyst:

* Must have one of the following:

* High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Bachelors degree in a business or finance field with a minimum of 3 years of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Masters degree in a business field or finance with a minimum of 1 year of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and strong analytical skills

* Must be able to operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail

* Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia

* Must have one of the following:

* High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Bachelors degree in a business or finance field with a minimum of 6 years of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Masters degree in a business or finance field with a minimum of 4 years of U.S. government contracting, contract administration, or similar experience

* Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and strong analytical skills

* Must be able to operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, and maintain attention to detail

* Must be able to work on-site in McLean, Virginia

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiarity with SAP accounting system

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
