Draws and collects blood samples from patients, registers outpatients for labwork, and collects chain of custody specimens. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Reports to Phlebotomy Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent . Certification by a nationally recognized body preferred but not required. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the phlebotomy field. Minimum 6 months experience.
Collects blood samples from patients by venipuncture and capillary puncture. Registers outpatients for lab work, orders tests in computer systems, and collects chain of custody specimens. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Reports to Phlebotomy Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent . Certification by a nationally recognized body preferred but not required. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the phlebotomy field.
Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience.
