Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Platforms Group (DPG) as a Software Application Engineer!

Within our DPG, the Ethernet Customer Solutions Group (ECS) is looking for a Software Application Engineer. As a Software Application Engineer, you will enable design wins, support the customer through the design-in phase, provide software development and debug support, and own the resolution of technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.

In this role you will be working independently and with peers, design engineers, and software engineers to ensure that customer needs and requirements are being addressed. You will be responsible for implementing bug fixes, tracking, and coordinating software builds, and releasing the platform software. You may also develop technical collateral to assist in customer development activities. Additionally, you will develop technical collateral including white papers, application notes, and training material. Some travel may be required (15-20%), as appropriate for product development.

The Data Platforms Group drives new products technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 4 years of industry work experience, or a Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 3 years of industry work experience, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus industry experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

- 3 plus years of software development expertise, preferably with network device drivers and/or firmware (Windows, Linux, VMware, FreeBSD, UEFI).

- 3 plus years of experience in networking and Ethernet fundamentals - protocols, topologies, features, etc

- 3 plus years of experience in Enterprise level Ethernet networking architecture, protocols, topologies, and networking products.

- 3 plus years of complex driver debug experience including experience with trace analysis.

- 2 plus years of experience with direct customer interaction in technical support role demonstrating strong customer orientation.

- 2 plus years of server Platform support experience.

- 2 plus years of Dell Server experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with BIOS/UEFI, NC-SI, PLDM, or PXE.

- Firmware development and/or validation experience.

- Scripting expertise - Powershell, Python, etc.

- Experience with IPS and/or HSD defect tracking applications.
