Coordinates the development of advance arrangements and procedures to ensure the Information Technology (IT) organization can respond to a disaster so that the critical business functions can be resumed within a defined time frame, the amount of loss can be minimized, and any stricken facilities can be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible; coordinates the design, development, maintenance, and exercising (testing) of the overall disaster recovery plans for each critical-function area of the company
Responsibilities
Coordinates actions with the Business Resilience and Recovery team in the analyses of gathered business impact analysis data to identify acceptable recovery time requirements for applications, technologies, and their dependencies; coordinates with IT teams to establish resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster; ensures that plans required for recovery are identified and properly maintained; coordinates the efforts of staff members in IT in the development of procedures for the recovery of applications and technologies during a disaster event
Establishes IT disaster recovery testing methodologies; plans, conducts, and reports results of testing related to IT assets used within the business units; works directly with the Business Resilience and Recovery team to ensure that IT recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes; tracks identified gaps to proper resolution through coordination with Business Resilience and Recovery, IT, and business unit teams
Develops and administers disaster recovery training for IT and business stakeholders; provides instructional and informational materials on how staff are expected to respond during an emergency; develops and maintains standards and procedures for disaster recovery documentation; maintains a library of IT recovery support and business resumption procedures
Manages and administers business continuity planning software
Following corporate guidelines for procurement, participates in activities to define requirements, request information, quotes, or proposals, evaluate and make recommendations, and negotiate contracts, SOWs and pricing for new products and services or renewals; works with vendors of disaster recovery services and facilities; studies and recommends outside services for use during a disaster situation
Stays abreast of current trends and best practices for business continuity and disaster recovery, functional operations and technology changes; coordinates and evaluates performance of IT business continuity and disaster recovery related functions for the departments; participates in key management activities, division strategic projects and committees; maintains appropriate communication within area of responsibility; Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, and Six or more years of experience in developing, implementing, testing, and
maintaining IT business recovery programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Member
of Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) required
High-level knowledge of technical strategies, company support strategies,
industry trends, and new products and technologies required
Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions, and industries required
Job Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated experience in conducting DR Requirements Analysis and Reviews.
Demonstrated experience planning, conducting, and reporting on IT Disaster Recovery exercises, conducting structured reviews of exercise performance, and tracking remedial action.
Demonstrated experience using and administering planning software
Functional with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflacs senior management, and with internal and external business contacts; ability to exhibit and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
