Position Summary:

The Communications Intern assists with creative development and implementation of photography and video content that informs internal and external audiences about business objectives, initiatives and updates. Communication takes place via several channels to include social media, email, Yammer, Dealer Central, and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities include: Drafting and/or editing social media and Yammer posts, taking photos and videos at AutoNation events; assisting with updating the social media and Yammer content calendars.

This is a time sensitive, highly visible position that interacts with senior level executives throughout the organization at any moment. In addition, the position interacts with all departments on key initiatives to help relative to communications. Departments may include: Operations (Sales, Customer Care, and Marketing), Finance Operations, Human Resources, Benefits, and Investor Relations.

Organizational Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Communications, with extensive interaction across multi-functions, including, store operations, IT, Human Resources, vendors, and key corporate Executives.

Job Responsibilities:

* Communication with our AutoNation community via Yammer, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter
* Assist in marketing campaigns as needed
* Post on our AutoNation Brand social media platforms via Sprinklr and Meltwater
* Assist in the creation of email, newsletter, and social media campaigns
* See what's trending in the automotive industry
* Photography and video at local AutoNation stores
* Assist in weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote AutoNation on various social media and internal communications channels
* Track Yammer and social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns

Qualifications

* Must be currently enrolled in a University program.
* Extensive experience via all major social media platforms
* Unique creative skills and ability to share important messages to our specific audience
* Ability to adapt to various situations and think creatively
* Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook proficiency
* Positive and energetic mindset willing to brainstorm and work with management
* Self-motivated to learn and adapt new techniques and skills
