As a WU Foundation Marketing Intern specifically, you will be part of a small team, helping to engage public and employees through marketing communications. You will use your experience and creativity to help build the reputation of the Foundation through marketing- and communications-related activities on various channels. You will learn how to build relationships, partnering effectively with multiple stakeholders and other global partners (e.g., marketing, social media, HR, legal, creative agencies, etc.). You will hone your skills, learning and applying your understanding of our messaging and mission.
Here is a sample of the type of work you will do during your internship:
* Social media: conceptualize, plan, write, and upload social posts, secure approvals from Legal, brand, and partners where appropriate, and create and keep a social calendar up to date.
* Creating content: work with colleagues and nonprofits to source stories, writing blogs, creating videos, infographics, and other assets to promote on social media, our website, and internal channels.
* Connect with stakeholders and partners to understand marketing campaign calendars and how we can help amplify our shared mission.
* Analytics: understand what content performs the best and where
* Support major campaigns including employee giving and golf tournament.
* Attend and actively participate in scheduled intern events outlined by the program manager.
* Support teammates with day-to-day activities as requested by managers.
Whilst you may not have professional work experience, we are looking for you to bring the following general skills to the table:
* Currently enrolled as a fulltime student in a secondary school, adult education, college or certificate/training program preferred.
* Ideally pursing a marketing or communications degree
* Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Demonstrated strategic thinking around how we can connect audiences to the Foundation mission.
* Ability to assist in devising and executing marketing activities as part a project team and autonomously as needed (with proper information and support from your WU team)
* Energetic, with a passion for using creative ideas to grow our reputation.
