About the team
The FIS Government Solutions team (EBT) owns and manages a product called ebtEDGESM which is a full-fledged Electronic Benefit Transfer solution that helps US u00A0States to manage their EBT program to distribute Food and Cash benefits to underprivileged citizens. This product has multiple components built and maintained on various technologies and continuously being enhanced to meet the Customer needs as well as the current industry trends ,practices and regulations. Our development and support teams leverages both agile and waterfall models to develop and deploy applications into Customer environments. We are looking for talented resources to be part of this dynamic team that will grow with the growth of the solution.
What you will be doing
u2022 Support u00A0IBM mainframe applications and HP Nonstop applications for an external Customer
u2022 Production bug fixes and new program development in IBM mainframes.
u2022 Available for on-call support
u2022 Work closely with business and product groups, Project manager , Change management , QC/certification teams , Production control and customer service teams on need basis.
u2022 Acquire high level knowledge on all areas of product and understand the dependencies between various components.
u2022 Good team player and ability to collaborate well with other team members..
u2022 Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code
u2022 Ensures system improvements are successfully implemented.
u2022 Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.
What you bring:
Bacheloru2019s degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
* Experience in supporting IBM S/390 applications and operations. Proficient in IBM COBOL programming , JCL ,VSAM
* Experience in supporting HP Nonstop applications
* Experience in developing Reports in IBM mainframes
* Experience in the role of Production support / 24 X 7 on- call / DevOps in supporting an application used by 1000s of users.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.u00A0
* Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development
* Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
Added bonus if you have:
* Experience in products that involves multiple technologies and interfaces ,mainly HP Nonstop ,IBM and open system platforms
* Knowledge and experience inu00A0 u00A0SQL queries
* Exposure to bank card industry( credit/debit) and awareness of industry rules around settlement and reconciliation between institutions and networks.
* Well versed in data analysis in MS excel and modern text editors such as codewright , textpad, Notepad++ etc.
* Experience in NDM ,connect direct file transfer methods between Systems.
