Facebook seeks a talented and highly motivated lawyer with at least three years of transactional experience to support its Facebook and Instagram content licensing initiatives. You will work with business leads to structure, draft and negotiate agreements with content creators and media partners for rights to a wide range of entertainment and gaming video content for distribution on Facebook Watch, fb.gg, IGTV and IG Reels. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and business operations. This is a full-time position.
Commercial Counsel Responsibilities
* Contract drafting, negotiation and advisory responsibilities for Facebook and Instagrams Media Partnerships, and Facebook Gaming Partnerships teams
* Provide thoughtful and practical business and legal advice to develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with creators and media partners
* Manage and resolve legal issues that arise in existing domestic and international commercial relationships
* Some domestic and international travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications
* J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
* 3+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in transactional practice at a law firm and/or in-house with a media, entertainment, internet or technology company
* Experience with the evolving U.S. media landscape, including distribution trends and business models
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working independently and reacting quickly to make decisions that have both legal and business impact, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience working in a top national or international law firm
* Experience providing counsel to internet companies with video products and services offered to consumers
* Transactional focus in entertainment, gaming and talent agreements
