Manager, Data Analytics and Automation

Job Description

The Business Reporting & Analytics team is composed of data analysts and automation developers who focus on helping keep the Facebook platform safe by providing top-line reporting solutions, business intelligence analytics and operational monitoring solutions to Community Operations. Key responsibilities for this team include top-line KPI reporting, surfacing actionable insights from our data, scoping the quantitative impact of potential opportunities, and identifying opportunities to improve enforcement on our platform. We're looking for a seasoned manager with experience leading impactful initiatives and a track record of strong partnership with cross functional leadership. This manager should bring excellent strategic thinking, a passion for people management, and demonstrated ability to build and develop leaders on their team and scale teams to the opportunities ahead. A successful candidate will be able to use these skills along with impeccable judgment to juggle multiple priorities and make impact in this critical area of our business. This role is a full-time position.

Manager, Data Analytics and Automation Responsibilities

* Deliver strong and visionary leadership to your team, enhance and develop a strong team culture and commitment to impact

* Provide people management, mentorship, and career development to members of your team

* Drive accountability by ensuring high quality operational monitoring, analysis and continuous improvement of enforcement and KPIs

* Work with cross-functional stakeholders to establish shared goals and bring role/scope clarity in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

* Craft and lead team to its vision: drive impact towards goals, and work leaders across the organization on strategies for executing, measuring progress, and sharing results

* Build strategic relationships with global and cross-functional teams to understand and anticipate risks to the company, and develop global solutions for monitoring operations and responding to external events

* Work with data engineering/data science and other analytics team to establish data sources that serve teams' business needs, identifying and advocating for process improvements and industry best practices (e.g. metric definitions)

* Drive accountability by ensuring high quality operational monitoring, analysis and continuous improvement of enforcement and KPIs

Minimum Qualifications

* BA/BS degree in STEM field (e.g. Statistics) with experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics, or equivalent experience

* 6+ years of work experience in role involving strategy, problem solving, or technical systems

* 2+ years of people management experience

* Experience engaging in conceptual technical discussions with data engineering partners, as well as explain issues to less technical audiences

* Analytical and strategic thinker with experience solving problems using data and providing practical business insights and driving operational improvements

* Demonstrated experience influencing a cross functional boundaries and/or globally

* Self-starting, intellectually curious, and creative individual operating in ambiguity

* Operational analytics and process improvement experience

* Experience working and/or discussing highly sensitive topics

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience scaling and leading analytical teams (e.g. Data Analysts, Business Intelligence Analysts, etc.)

* Experience with data analysis & visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Tableau)

* 3+ years experience in the Trust & Safety space, or in another adversarial space such as fraud, risk, etc.

* Experience with predictive or descriptive analytics and working with machine learning teams
