Position Overview

The Controls Engineer Manager maintains and troubleshoots production equipment from various suppliers. The position identifies and prioritizes controls/electrical opportunities to maximize operations performance within a facility. This position develops and maintains electrical and controls system documentation.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

* Manage and deliver controls system training to Maintenance Controls Technicians for the purpose of minimizing the production down time.
* Enhance controls technicians skills with hands-on support during troubleshooting events and creating technical aids and sessions to develop competency
* Plan and execute projects in a manner in order to minimize downtime.
* Develop and maintain electrical and controls system documentation.
* Able to identify incident root causes, mechanical or electrical controls, and coordinate resources to address them.
* Analyze machinery and systems and develop improvement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
* Drive root cause corrective action for issues and continuous improvement in performance.
* Manage control system obsolescence by developing asset replacement roadmaps.
* Must respond to after hour downtime events when needed.

LEADERSHIP

* Collaborates with Regional Leadership to advise, co-develop and communicate organization strategy and vision
* Evaluates existing strategies and against changing competitive market landscape; evolves plans as appropriate and leads change to deliver evolved plans
* Drives and supports a culture of innovation and idea generation that creates winning ideas sets example for associates to act as an owner of business
* Ensures organizational structure is aligned to needs to the business, including alignment with Procurement buying strategies and BU plans
* Forecasts future organization capability and executes remediation plans ahead of need
* Places high priority on capability development to ensure strong succession pipeline
* Small project management: able to develop plan, schedule and budget, then execute and track

Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.

Related Work Experience:

Minimum: 2 years of work experience in industrial environments.

Preferred Level: 5+ years of work experience in industrial environments

Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, HMI, SCADA systems, Windows OS and Networks

Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
