The VMware Skyline (CMBU) organization is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join our team to build the next generation proactive intelligence capabilities for the Skyline product portfolio. Skyline proactive customer intelligence brings together supportability and manageability to provide closed loop customer experience. Skyline proactive intelligence is being actively used by VMware customers to efficiently manage and avoid disruptions in their SDDC.

This role will work across cross-functional engineering teams to deliver Skyline product features to customers while keeping the bar high on quality.

This role will give you an ability to utilize your strong leadership and program management skills to facilitate, coordinate, and collaborate with multiple engineering teams to complete complex technical programs and projects. You will work across and influence cross-functional teams on dependency resolution for successful program execution. You will work with your peers to influence process changes for repeatable and quality product delivery. You will constantly learn new technologies, products, and contribute to continuously improving project execution. You will be working in a fast-paced environment to keep short-term, tactical details of a product release in focus, while working towards the long-term goal of building a repeatable software development and release system for planning and execution.

Responsibilities for this role include:

* Technical Program Management of planning and execution of Skyline product features, including managing and resolving cross-organization and cross-product dependencies.

* Familiarity and experience with agile software delivery methodologies, security compliance, open source software process, release management, and legal reviews.

* Providing clear, concise, transparent, project communication and updates to a diverse set of stakeholders.

* Defining, establishing, and maintaining a consistent, traceable decision-making process across a heterogeneous landscape of stakeholders.

* Gathering metrics, building reports and dashboards that detail program health including project execution, quality, and execution to plan. Skyline uses Jira as a project management tool.

* Leading PI and Sprint planning, including coordination with Product Management, UI/UX, Documentation, Engineering, Product Marketing teams for planning and tracking execution.

* Being a catalyst for change in the organization, leading with and without authority and handling nebulous and evolving change efforts.

* Must be biased towards action and possess a growth mindset.

Required qualifications:

* 8+ years large-scale projects in a distributed organization.

* Ability to build trust and collaboratively work with stakeholders of all levels, and drive influence.

* Clear and effective communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.

* Strong organizational and program management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.

* Strong work ethic, disciplined execution skills, persistence to deliver results.

* Capable of understanding both technology and business.

* Self-starter who enjoys problem-solving with little direct supervision. Ability to learn quickly with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity.

* Experience moving teams through tight deadlines and complex initiatives.
