Level III Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
Acting as the main point of contact on shift in absence of Maintenance management, handles operational calls
Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and production facility building in accordance with work orders and technical documentation as assigned in a timely manner
Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex production systems issues and problems. Determines immediate course of action needed to correct problems and repair engine assembly equipment; delegates work to Level I and Level II Maintenance Technicians based on operational needs
Within the guidelines of authorized Company policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and good business ethics, coordinates the activities, plans, and programs of the designated areas of responsibility
Using CMMS-generated preventive maintenance worksheets to maintain production facilities machinery and equipment according to manufacturers recommendations and good maintenance practices
Operating, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, including conveyors, robotic equipment, PLC controlled equipment and related tools & equipment
Diagnosing and repairing complex production facilities automated equipment, including computer hardware/software, Robots, and PLCs
Interpreting CMMS data and suggesting maintenance schedule/activity adjustments to the Functional Manager and Maintenance planning. Reviews and recommends changes to PM procedures, frequencies, and assignments
Mentoring, coaching, and training Level I and Level II Maintenance Technicians on diagnostic techniques, processes, and procedures necessary to maintain and repair assembly and material-handling equipment
Delegating work to Level I and Level II Maintenance Technicians based on operational needs
Coordinating with the Functional Manager to administer and maintain a training matrix designed to increase the experience and skill set of production facilities Maintenance Technicians
Auditing, reviewing, and documenting Level I and Level II Maintenance Technicians' work, auditing PMs, and reporting results to the Functional Manager
Requirements
Mastery of all production facilities systems, including conveyors, robotic equipment, Hot Test, and industrial trucks
A minimum of six years of work experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Industrial electrical / electronic assembly and material-handling equipment
A minimum of two years of work experience in a new generation-ASRS production facility, or comparable automated production facility
A minimum of six months of experience as a Level II Maintenance Technician
Must have knowledge of computer system functions and their interrelationships. Knows where to seek help for each system
Must have working knowledge of advanced plant operating equipment, robotics, PLC, CMMS, etc.
Must understand the operation and function of CMMS including work order entry, spare parts transactions, and report generation
Understanding of lockout / tagout procedures
Familiar with PM procedures; able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems (PLCs, SCSs, scanners, etc.), and able to recommend and implement corrective actions
Familiar with PLC logic principles and able to upload and download PLCs, VFDs, and scanners
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and building blueprints, as well as electrical schematics
Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and ability to multi-task
Must have experience with maintenance workflow, including TMA scheduling, PM tasking, work order creation, vibration analysis, and other predictive maintenance functions
Must be able to interpret PLC ladder logic, including loading, troubleshooting, and minor software manipulations (resetting faults, forcing, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of electricity (AC/DC theory, relays, switches, solenoids, fuses, breakers, etc.), power generation and distribution (including three-phase), electrical safety, National Electric Code, motor theory and protection, and DVM operation.
Must complete live panel entry training
Knowledge of electronics such as photo sensors, scanning devices, embedded controllers, PLCs, servo drives, variable frequency drives, Ethernet devices, and remote I/Os
Mechanical knowledge of machines (pulleys, levers, etc.), pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, reducers, bearings, lubrication theory, drive components (sheaves, sprockets, chain belts, take-ups), and equipment alignment. Knowledge of all phases of cutting and welding
Understands and adheres to OSHA safety regulations and able to train others on safety
Must be willing and able to climb above the shop floor, or use a man-lift, as needed to make repairs. Position requires repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift parts and tools weighing 20 pounds, on average, and occasionally weighing up to 35 pounds
Ability to train and mentor less experienced technician candidates
Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate technical problems in non-technical terms to area leads, function managers, and managers
Experience working in a team environment
Strong organization skills, computer skills (Word and Excel), and basic math skills (Algebra)
