About the Data Governance & Insights team
Your high-visibility team will be responsible for how we collect, govern and use clickstream (behavioral) data, through all of Capital One digital products, for optimization, business intelligence, while ensuring were doing so in a sustainable and customer-focused way. At destination, your team will empower marketers, data scientists, analysts and product teams with high-quality real time data that is built for machine learning and meets our high standards for privacy. You will work closely with all the teams above to test value creating hypotheses, enabled by this data, and will be instrumental in enabling intent based personalization.
About the Role
This role has the unique opportunity to own data platforms by building a mature data layer at Capital One from very early stages towards a shared destination. By listening to internal stakeholders and working with your product, analyst and tech teams, you will shape the quality, consistency and value of visitor data to enable optimization and business intelligence systems. You will also lead efforts on business intelligence, analytics and insights associated with clickstream data, experimentation and products that combine both.
As an analytics product leader you will:
* Build the user data platform focused on how, where and what data is collected and how we keep those data safe
* Understand and balance diverse stakeholder needs and articulate mature data management processes that work for customers and marketers
* Develop the platform that manages pixels, tags and clickstream across customer-facing channels
* Work with legal and privacy teams to follow the latest regulatory and company guidelines
* Identify unmet industry needs and disruption opportunities, guiding interdisciplinary teams to deliver innovative products to market.
* Design and build a business intelligence platform that leverages both user and business data to automate analysis and identify market opportunities
* Establish or participate in Design Thinking, Agile, and LEAN rituals which establish rhythm for the team, promote ongoing communication, and iterative refinement of roadmaps
* Drive build-vs-buy decisions in our product development process, combing the landscape for potential Fintech partners in various stages of maturity
* Lead the definition of a Product Vision and then develop a short- and long-term roadmap for the teams to be able to execute
* Define learning agenda and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success/failure
* Regularly and systematically use data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making
* Serve as subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, thought leader, career guide and mentor to teams
* Lead multiple product managers, mentoring and guiding them through product delivery and team dynamics
What we are looking for:
* Experience with clickstream analytics and pixel/tag management
* Deep understanding of user data patterns, privacy and how data is used for optimization
* Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and be measured by your ability to satisfy internal customer needs
* Experience building data products that deliver automated insights
* Credibility to evangelize evidence-based product management
* Proven experience in and passion for building and shipping great products
* Exceptional communication skills- someone who is an engaging storyteller and is at ease presenting to executives.
* Creative problem solver who lives at the intersection of Human, Business and Technology dimensions. Deep fluency and experience in at least two of these dimensions, with solid understanding of the third.
* Blend of both strategic and tactical thinking- someone who can identify and prioritize opportunities in highly ambiguous contexts, and then organize thematic work areas in deep detail, thus aligning long term vision with iterative execution
* Strong quantitative background to support data-informed decision making
* Collaborative, team player attitude with the ability to navigate and influence the organization
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree or military experience
* At least 10 years of experience in analytics
Preferred Qualifications:
* MBA or Masters degree
* 5+ years of experience in people management
* 3+ years of experience in strategy
* 2+ years of Fintech/Financial Services experience
