Amazon Web Services (AWS) QuickSight is looking to hire talented system development engineer to help us build a world class BI application powered by advanced analytics and machine learning. Amazon QuickSight is a fast, easy-to-use cloud-based, serverless Business Intelligence (BI) service designed for easy deployment to tens of thousands of users. As a fully-managed SaaS application, theres no need for customers to buy, manage and scale servers and no software to deploy and upgrade. QuickSight is deeply integrated with AWS data sources, allowing companies to deploy secure and scalable BI with their data on AWS.
As more data is being generated in the cloud and tens of thousands of customers migrating their on-premises data into the AWS cloud, Amazon QuickSight is positioned to change the business analytics. Regardless of whether the data is in Files (desktop or S3), SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MariaDB), AWS data stores (Athena, RDS, RedShift, Aurora), or SaaS business applications (Salesforce, Twitter, etc.), Amazon QuickSight makes it easy for our customers analyze and get insights instantly. As a Technical Program Manager on the team, you will be responsible for leading Performance, Security, and Ops initiatives across QuickSight. Responsibilities include tracking and driving performance improvements across QuickSight product, driving security campaigns and action items, driving Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) and action items, working closely with AppSec and driving resolutions for vulnerabilities, driving various Ops initiatives such as Full CD, availability and latency improvements, publishing reports for leadership team, proactively coming up with Ops and Security goals across QuickSight and deliver, and proactively looking around the corners for any security vulnerabilities and work with AppSec to address them. You will be expected to work with multiple dev teams within and outside of QuickSight. This is a high visibility and high impact role.
The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current cloud technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry.
3+ years of coding experience in Java, C++, or Python.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale cloud applications.
A first-hand working knowledge of current cloud technologies.
Experience with project management tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
Prior experience with developing Big Data & Machine Learning tools and services.
Prior experience with AWS technologies.
