The Opportunity

As the Senior Business Partner of HR, you will be responsible for consultation and support of the Human Resources function. This role will serve as the HR Business Partner (HRBP) responsible for employee relations, projects/initiatives, performance management, compensation strategy and planning, as well as day-to-day HR duties. The Senior Business Partner must have leadership skills, as you will be responsible in providing direction and advice in successfully recruiting, on-boarding and assimilating new hires. This role will also focus on supporting a learning organization and a robust talent management process. The Senior Business Partner will report to the Director or Manager and works under limited supervision. In this role, you may interact with other internal and external personnel (eg, external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or more complex tasks usually under supervision.

The Work Itself

* Design and develop strategic plans using business knowledge; execute strategies and methods in alignment with enterprise goals and HR policies and practices.
* Serve as a trusted advisor and valued business partner to executive leadership and their teams; be trusted as a partner to clients and with HR colleagues.
* Act as a coach and mentor to leaders and offer creative solutions to complex issues using multi-disciplined approach.
* Evaluate and analyze data and information from HR will report to determine HR issues impacting the business unit. -- Evaluate and analyze data/information and report HR issues impacting the business unit.
* Identify and investigate opportunities to integrate technology into effective business practices.
* Provide compensation guidance in alignment with Ally's pay for performance culture and support annual compensation planning process
* Support change management and process improvement initiatives, compile HR reports, audit, and ensure data integrity.
* Support performance management culture including management and employee development initiatives.
* Partner with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment needs for business and on-boarding of new employees.
* Partner with Finance to ensure headcount and business plan alignment

The Skills You Bring

* 3+ years of progressive HR experience.
* Bachelor's degree preferred in HR or related field. PHR recommended.
* Strong oral and written communication skills. May be asked to communicate to larger groups on behalf of team.
* Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering with coaching and building credibility with senior leaders. Ability to mentor and shape a successful team.
* Ability to use professional concepts and company policies to creatively solve a wide range of difficult problems.
* Ability to use judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
* Superior knowledge of employment law; independently manages complex ER issues and working with non-exempt populations.
