The Site Security Supervisor manages site security operations and maintains adequate security staffing for normal operations and special events at our Bethlehem, PA fulfillment center. They will provide operational security, fire, and life safety systems, and request repairs or modifications when systems are impaired. Reports status of security function to the Regional Security Operations Manager or department executive when requested. Perform duties with latitude for independent judgment. Oversees security operations at the assigned site to ensure compliance with established departmental and operational procedures. Leads a team of Security officers for the delivery of comprehensive security operations and programs designed to protect QVC Group team members, business processes, and key constituents. Protective services include security, investigations, fire protection, medical response, life safety and crisis management and Workplace Violence Program.
Job Description Details
* Oversees site security operations to ensure compliance with established departmental and operational procedures.
* Supervises contract or proprietary security staff.
* Trains and develops skills of staff in the assigned area, providing motivation and guidance to area personnel by reviewing performance and providing feedback in a timely manner to the security contract vendor.
* Meets with staff to review department changes and statistics, respond to questions, and communicate any issues/concerns to the group.
* Ensures the accurate identification, tracking and monitoring of problem situations. Tracks department activity statistics. Identifies and evaluates opportunities to consistently improve the security environment at the site. Plans, controls, and coordinates Security activities within the site.
* Resolves the most complex security problems/issues. Recommends and implements solutions.
* Acts as a liaison between security and all site departments.
* Demonstrates customer service, focus on safety, responsiveness, verbal and written communications.
* Ability to quickly develop working knowledge of all areas of the site operation and the ability to develop a clear understanding of key functional processes and resources, as well as opportunities for improvement from a security or life safety perspective.
* Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment.
* The ability to process rapid problem resolution, especially around a crisis or serious physical security incident or emergency situations.
* Interpersonal skills to influence a group of stakeholders across the site as well as security related vendors.
* Deep understanding of security operations as they apply to market region. Ability to lead a team of direct reports at the site or contract security staff in accordance with directives and operating procedures.
* Ability to work and provide leadership under stressful or emergency conditions as well as the ability to manage in a fast paced environment. Strong decision making ability during both crisis and non-crisis situations.
* Ability to travel when needed to other market locations to support and manage security issues, concerns and threats and be available 24/7.
Qualifications
* An undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred. Loss Prevention and Criminal Justice preferred.
* 3 - 5 years previous lead/supervisory experience in a similar working environment or a combination of seasonal developmental positions with other related experience is required (security and/or law enforcement).
* Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are essential. Demonstrated initiative and multitasking ability are necessary.
* The position requires a high level of interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
* Familiarity with business applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is necessary.
