## The Opportunity

Serves as the highest-level technical application and/or business architecture specialist for software development / infrastructure teams. Acts as SME for project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of technology solutions. In application architecture designs the inter-system/application structures, advises teams of Ally standard requirements, security standards, methodology and processes. In business architecture defines cross-business function processes, advises teams of consistent processes and common business functions. Drives short- and long-term architecture strategy for the overall technology project portfolio for key business segments. Collaborates across boundaries to create re-usable architecture building blocks. Develops, supports, and promotes Platforms and Platform Strategy. Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and process improvement to enable business strategy. Leverages deep architectural experience and tools to drive innovation and digital transformation. Communicates and validates program architecture with technical leadership, program management, business line leadership, and executive level partners. This is a senior-level position that will serve as an esteemed mentor to more junior architects and will report to a Sr. Director of Technology.

## The Work Itself

* Develop and drive the short and long term architecture strategy and portfolio needs for key business segments.
* Develop measurable strategic roadmaps to enable future state business capabilities.
* Serve as an esteemed technical mentor to architecture and software development colleagues.
* Provide cost effective solutions that enable the business and maximize flexibility to integrate with other systems.
* Supports the development of architecture principles, styles, patterns and standards for systems across the business, translating corporate strategy into technical strategy.
* Lead multi-functional team to drive peer reviews, gain consensus, and finalize proposed solutions with all partners.
* Communicate and validate architecture with executive IT partners, architects, and technologists.
* Review legacy architecture, identify components strategically aligned for re-architecture, monitor technology usage for end of life cycle.
* Develop, support, and promote Platforms and Platform Strategy.
* Collaborate across functional and business boundaries to create re-usable architecture building blocks.
* Drive innovation and digital transformation using architecture tools and methodologies.

## The Skills You Bring

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or other relevant field of study
* 7+ years of architecture experience
* Ability to guide, mentor, and coach a technical teams
* Expert knowledge of standards in IT architecture and infrastructure
* Ability to develop enterprise guidelines and standards
* Expert knowledge of the software development process and how it fits within the IT architecture and infrastructure
* Expert knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs
* Expert knowledge of enterprise platforms and operating systems or expert knowledge of key business functions and processes
* Understanding of Information Security Policy and Procedures how they fit within the IT architecture and infrastructure
* Ability to lead or interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams made up of employee, business partner, and/or supplier resources
* Ability to effectively communicate with other senior leaders of IT on program strategies and plans and negotiate quality solutions
* Demonstrated experience coaching and working with Agile development teams
* Demonstrated experience in API domain analysis and design
* Minimum 2 years experience documenting and delivering cohesive architecture model using a formal Architecture Modeling Language (e.g. ArchiMate, UML, ...)
* Experience designing microservices based solutions
* Familiar with containers and container orchestration
* Experience architecting AWS cloud native systems and services preferred
* Exposure to relational database technologies and Database Administration and configuration
* Demonstrated experience developing high performance applications
* Exposure to no-SQL database technologies (e.g. Redis, DynamoDB ...)
* Exposure to single-table database design and implementation
* Experience using Apigee preferred
