The Optimal Practice Lead in Irving, TX is a healthcare revenue cycle subject matter expert with experience in multiple functional areas such as patient access, revenue integrity, and patient financial services. The Optimal Practice Lead (Optimal Practice Team) will work collaboratively with the client management executive, Optum360 operational leadership, and client leadership to identify client and Optum360 operational improvement using data analysis and industry best practice knowledge in revenue cycle.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

If you are located in the Chicago, IL, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Coordinate and complete projects across various functional areas
* Be able to complete projects on time and within budget
* Monitor and track project statuses, reporting back to project teams and leaders
* Be a valued contributor to the Performance Improvement and Operations teams
* Provide analytical support to the Performance Improvement, Operations, and Client Management teams
* Perform root cause analysis when determining areas of opportunity to improve performance excellence
* Be able to interpret data and anticipate changes in client performance based upon information gleaned from the client, operations management, operational observations and the client management executive
* Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
* Coordinate and be responsible for the development and distribution of client reporting at a cadence and frequency defined by the client management executive
* Work collaboratively with the OAS Exchange Team regarding data / metric needs
* Be prepared to make operational and strategic recommendations to leadership, the client management executive and operations management teams using data driven analytics and process / system knowledge
* Identify client accomplishments / barriers in achieving operational excellence
* Work collaboratively with the client management executive and operational leader in the management and development of client action and performance improvement plans
* Perform operational process reviews, documenting findings using toolkit360 tools
* Maintain communication with team and key stakeholders
* Escalate potential risks / issues identified to project stakeholders and leadership
* Make presentations to leadership and project teams on project updates, expected results, and findings
* Provide explanation and interpretations of data within area of expertise
* Grow to understand and represent Optum technology and services and how they will improve client operations
* Manage assigned work plans, project tasks, and assignments in accordance with budget

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
* 5+ years of experience in end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle experience
* 3+ years of experience with accounts receivables
* 3+ years of experience with denials management
* 3+ years of client facing experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word (creating and editing documents), Microsoft Excel (general spreadsheet navigation, date entry and analysis), Microsoft PowerPoint (creating and editing slides for presentations) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar)
* Ability to Travel up to 80% within the Great Chicago area
* If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
* Hospitalist experience
* Prior Leadership Experience
* Proficient with Microsoft Project (designing and organizing project plans) and Microsoft Visio (design and illustrate process flows)
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot table, writing macros, data analytics)
* Epic experience
* SQL (writing and executing queries)
* Prior experience identifying data trends and issues
* Prior Ambulatory Experience
* Experience in statistics and using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
* Prior client facing experience and the ability to present Csuite level presentations and data

* Ability to probe, analyze, synthesize, and articulate complex subject matter so it can be easily understood back to client
