This facility operates five days a week and produces Barber Foods Stuffed Chicken Breast products.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisors instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Maintaining plant equipment to supply maximum available uptime for production, quality, and yields, while ensuring the safest work environment possible
* Essential understanding of maintenance continuous improvement processes, accurate record keeping utilizing the plants Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system
* Monitor and participate in operations in assigned sections including inspecting projects, developing, and implementing modifications and improvements, recommending specifications, and scheduling for contracts, and inspecting contractors work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
* Provide input into the development of the maintenance and repair operations.
* Monitor and guide the daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure completion of work.
* Give guidance and support to technicians for growth and development within Tyson.
* Work with Maintenance Supervisor and Training Supervisor to develop needed training for all techs which may include: OJT with current high skill level techs; utilization of Tyson Maintenance Skills Training Program; weekly or weekend training on equipment for specific operations issues by supervisor; cross training of all techs in other areas of the facility and follow standard operating procedures.
* Perform any other work as assigned by supervisor/manager

REQUIREMENTS:

* Proficiency in multiple skill clusters including basic electricity, fluid power, mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, and manufacturing processes, willing to learn all phases of plant operations
* Understand OSHA, HACCP, Food Safety, GMP, and EPA policies and guidelines
* Natural Gas/High Pressure Boiler State of Maine License preferred but not required

Basic refrigeration knowledge preferred but not required
