Job Summary:
Design, deliver, and support engineering software development platforms for RMD Systems & Software Engineers who DevOps principles to enable digital transformation and engineering efficiencies. Develop, automate, and package software solutions to enable our Engineers to begin utilizing capabilities faster and more reliably to support our global customer programs!

This role within RMD Digital Technology (IT) is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Solution Delivery organization. The primary responsibility for this position is to design, deliver, and support complex software solutions for our engineering functions. This role will lead partnered efforts across IT and Engineering functions to continuously improve software solutions and validate that they are enabling engineering to develop products faster and better.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

* Partner with engineering to identify capability gaps to support development of IT solutions to support business needs
* Deliver and maintain commercially available software solutions, including client and server based applications
* Develop automation using industry standard languages and technologies to streamline and simplify application deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrade activities
* Investigate and provide answers to application related questions surrounding usage, best practices, and problems
* Author documentation capturing processes, procedures, work instructions, and design artifacts
* Administer and maintain solution security and compliance by leading hardening, patching, recovery, and upgrade efforts via partnerships with other IT functions
* Develop software tool customization and automation, including the development of templates, dashboards and scripts required to support engineering needs
* Develop and execute on tool retirement/migration plans to enable program continuity during transitions to newer solutions and technologies
* Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing via technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues
* Collaborate and partner with counterparts at other business units to help develop scaled, sharable solutions to benefit all of Raytheon
* Ability to travel to a Raytheon site (AZ, CA, TX, FL and MA locations) to provide onsite support based on business demand

Qualifications You Must Have:

* Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) OR minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a Bachelors Degree
* 2-4 years of prior/current experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting DevOps pipelines comprised of software including Jira, BitBucket, GitHub Enterprise, BlackDuck, Jenkins, Ansible, Coverity, Puppet and/or Chef
* 2-4 years of prior/current experience with container technologies and infrastructure including Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and/or Helm
* Minimum of 4 years of experience with automation via scripting (Bash, Ruby, Python, PowerShell, Java Script, etc.)
* Minimum of 5 years of experience administrating both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating system.
* Prior experience in technical leadership
* The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

* Proficiency with relational databases and an ability to troubleshoot backup/recovery, connectivity, and availability issues (Oracle, MySql, and/or MSSQL)
* Experience with web-centric technologies like WebSphere, Tomcat, XML/XSL, HTML, Javascript, HTTPS/SSL/TLS, and LDAP
* Experience deploying software into the AWS cloud
* Experience with legacy source code tools like ClearCase, Synergy, SVN
* Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills supporting the ability to work effectively and efficiently
* Experience securing and hardening systems and web-based applications
* Experience in a technical support role
* Demonstrated experience learning new technologies, methodologies, and processes quickly
* Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work styles
* Proven ability to work effectively with remote colleagues and customers
