Raleigh General Hospital
Assures provision of optimum quality patient care by serving as an assistant to the Administrative Director of Surgical Services, assists in daily unit functions; serves as a reference and resources person for staff, patient and family; coordinates patient care with other departments; assumes 24 hour responsibility for units activities and evaluating the effectiveness of the staff and unit performance.
Assesses unit, patient and staff.
Plans for meeting the needs of patient, staff, physicians, and hospital.
Performs management duties for units under their supervision.
Initiates self development mechanism for professional growth.
Delivers direct patient care appropriate to age of patient served.
Reports to: Surgical Services Director
FLSA: Non-exempt
Grade: N10
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Graduate of a Program in Discipline - Required Graduate from a School of Nursing/College Nursing Education Program
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 months
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - to be obtained within 6 months
Required Licenses
[West Virginia, United States] Other
Current licensure by WV State Board of Nursing.
Minimum Work Experience
Three years nursing experience.
