We are seeking a motivated FPGA/ASIC Design Verification Engineer who is passionate about cutting edge hardware acceleration and would like to translate this passion into a commercial reality through a cloud service in Azure reaching thousands of customers and being implemented through millions of servers.
Candidates should have FPGA and/or ASIC verification expertise to verify IP for Microsoft's next generation of cloud servers and applications. The candidate will contribute to a team developing IP for both FPGAs and ASICs. The successful candidate will also be a strong communicator, creative, a critical thinker, and able to analyze and resolve complex issues.
Own verification of complex IP. Develop UVM testbenches for block level through full system.
Run tests, debug failures to root cause, and recommend fixes.
Develop verification strategy, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies.
Maintain regression to close coverage metrics to support FPGA design iterations.
Interact with multiple software teams inside Microsoft.
Basic Qualifications
BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
8+ years of experience in ASIC or FPGA Development.
8+ years' experience defining, developing, and using verification environments in industry standard languages like SVTB UVM or formal verification.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in digital design including specification development, RTL design, synthesis, and static timing signoff.
Ability to write scripts using Perl, Tcl, Python, etc.
Proven experience of successful SoC or IP designs for ASICs in leading-edge technology.
Knowledgeable in one or more industry standard interfaces such as AMBA AXI, PCIe, USB, and DDR/LPDDR.
Experience in FPGA design is desirable including an understanding the tradeoffs for mapping ASIC to FPGA or vice versa.
FPGA development environment tools expertise, including design, implementation, and debug.
FPGA high-level synthesis design and compilation using HLS tools with C, C++, and OpenCL.
Good communication skills, self-starter, and ability to facilitate cross group collaboration across Microsoft internal groups and external vendors.
The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $124,000 and $186,000.
At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.
In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
