As a member of the Experiences and Devices (E+D) Office of Applied Research team, your core mission will be to drive key workstreams in Responsible AI across the E+D division. You will join a team that brings together engineers and scientists from many different backgrounds and deeply values the importance of diverse perspectives in the product development process. We are looking for candidates who are creative and action oriented, as well as self-driven, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with people across Microsoft's product teams and Microsoft Research.
* Orchestrating the E+D Responsible AI scorecard and infrastructure investments.
* Running prioritized workstreams and meetings with E+D Responsible AI Champs.
* Driving the E+D Responsible AI Comms, Events and Community including Newsletters, Workshops, Hackathons, etc.
* Collaborating closely with the organizations across the company responsible for Responsible AI across research, engineering, legal and compliance.
* Guiding E+D Responsible AI Incident Response planning and assisting on incidents and escalations.
Candidates should feel comfortable working with research and engineering groups across the company. The role also requires significant collaborative work to bring diverse points of view together, build consensus in the face of disagreement, and create partnerships based on trust and mutual understanding.
Required Qualifications:
* BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline
* 2+ years program management or related experience in a technical area
Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum 2-3 years of project experience on software or research teams especially around managing programs.
* Experience building software products and AI/ML or Responsible AI is a plus
* 2+ years proven record of owning internal communications with engineering or research teams.
* Strong understanding of the scientific process (the workings of research labs, publishing papers, etc.)
* Experience executing in a new environment that has fluid processes and ambiguity.
* Comfortable in a high visibility role and able to communicate ideas effectively with executives and engineering teams.
