Our Engineers support internal and external manufacturing operations remain operational, continuously improve and innovate. With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities and Validation.

We are seeking a Planner/Scheduler to schedule maintenance and calibration activity execution, update execution metrics, provide project tracking, reconcile spare parts inventory, execute shutdown planning and implementation along with departmental support functions. The Planner Scheduler is a member of the Engineering team providing technical support to the manufacturing site.

The site includes clean utilities, facilities equipment, manufacturing production equipment, quality labs and a warehouse. To be successful in this role you will need to proficient in the use of scheduling and purchasing systems and knowledgeable of site/established procedures in order to assist in the resolution of process/equipment issues, minimize area/equipment downtime, and ensure timely work scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

General

* Individual contributor role working with Staff and Technician employees and/or contractors

* Provides planning and scheduling guidance to employees, colleagues or contractors for maintenance activities on production and utility equipment in manufacturing building and lab building

* Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from manager

* Contributes to the performance and results of the department

Process Execution | Continuous Improvement

* Anticipates and interprets client and/or customer needs to identify solutions

* Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

* Ensures daily maintenance operations and daily priorities and schedules project/work meeting the criteria established by site objectives and maintenance metrics

* Print, track and close and file work orders in CMMS system

* Support major equipment maintenance, production, and utility equipment related projects by planning path forward for least disruption to plant operations

* Creates and tracks master shutdown schedule including all maintenance, calibration, capital project work, and GMP Cleaning for all facility shutdowns

* Coordinates with IPT production planners

* Identifies and executes revisions, deletions, or additions to the calibration and maintenance programs to ensure that calibration and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with established safety, GMP, and calibration/maintenance procedures

* Learn CMMS system platforms and route engineering change requests through CMMS system

* Improves maintenance procedures to ensure scheduling process can be easily integrated with difficult operations schedule

* Strategic and effective problem-solving skills with a demonstrated approach to problem solving

* Manage spare parts process ordering for maintenance activities tied to work orders

Quality & Safety Compliance

* Manage pressure relief device program spares for maintenance activities

* Examine an issue from diverse perspectives (safety, compliance, automation, equipment, process, and people) in order to best understand and identify root cause

Communication

* Works as a liaison between Engineering, Maintenance, Production and other Site Business Partners

* Support daily meetings to facilitate flow of information up/down through the organization

* Participate in team meetings to cascade information and collect team feedback

* Provide clear consistent communication from shift to shift

* Leads departmental shutdown meetings. Attends site daily shutdown meetings ensuring department owned activities are tracked and completed

* Escalate issues as needed to ensure the right support/awareness is given to issues as they arise

* Serve as a Subject Matter Expert during tours to provide area/process overview information to visitors/auditors upon request

Financial

* Ensure inventory transactions are complete, timely, and accurate

* Recognize and communicate opportunities for cost savings

Education Requirement

* Bachelor degree in engineering, science OR an associate degree and two (2) years experience in a production, calibration, and/or maintenance background OR a high school diploma/GED with four (4) years experience in a production, calibration and/or maintenance background

Experience and Skills

Required

* Familiarity of regulatory requirements in accordance with GMP manufacturing operations

* Strategic verbal and written communication

* Effective planning, scheduling, and time management

* Calibration and/or maintenance databases

* Familiarity of World Class maintenance practices is paramount (e.g. PMs, RCM, PdM, etc.)

* CMMS/ERP experience related to plant maintenance and spare parts procurement systems

Preferred

* Project management, including change control and equipment qualification

* SAP experience related to plant maintenance and spare parts procurement systems

* cGMP experience in a sterile, bulk or finished pharmaceutical environment

* Mechanical functionality and reliability knowledge (asset management)

* Green Belt/Black Belt Certification

* Microsoft Project experience or similar platform
