CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Information Technology group. We are looking for an IT Data Visualization Intern to help support a variety projects that will range in scale and complexity. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated with confirmed leadership abilities, decisive leadership and presentation skills and be able to function in a team-oriented environment with resource and time constraints.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Enable enterprise data visualization projects and initiatives by:
* Supporting the translation of data into visualizations, metrics, goals and KPIs.
* Identify process improvement solutions in relation with data visualization activities and technologies.
* Analyze and resolve data management conflicts across business and IT teams.
* Partner with our internal development team to troubleshoot and resolve data platform related defects.
* Assisting with defining functional specifications, analyzing data and testing enhancements to current systems and processes.
* Design, develop and maintain visualization solutions aligned to the enterprise data visualization strategy.
* Facilitate, support and train business subject matter experts on data management and visualization procedures to meet target system design.
* Develop an understanding of data integration across process streams and the value it drives for reporting and analytics.
* Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Business Management, Information Management, Computer Science, or other STEM degree program
Preferred qualifications: (desired)
* Coursework involving data visualization platforms including Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, R, Matlab
* Coursework in database development
* Basic understanding of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processing
* Basic understanding of SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, SCRUM, XP, KANBAN)
* Experience with other programming languages
* Working knowledge of SQL and Transact (T-SQL) statements
* Experience in data mining and big data management techniques
* Experience with Continuous improvement principles
* Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
