Responsibilities
The Digital Health and Analytics organization is seeking a talented Engineering leader for a newly created position of Associate Director, Software Engineering.
This is a key leadership role in the DH&As Platform Innovation and Engineering organization and is responsible for leading and growing a team that provides solutions that drive enterprise Analytics, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing platforms across Humana.
The individual has a track record to partner with the business in designing and delivering solutions to complex, high impact business problems. The leader leverages a solid understanding of cloud native platforms and data pipeline technologies to transform high volumes of complex batch and real-time streaming data into advanced analytic solutions.
The role requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s) and is adept at establishing agile cross-team processes and working models to achieve desired outcomes.
The leader will also be responsible for growing and scaling teams of software engineers, data engineers, infrastructure engineers and machine learning engineers that build cloud native, scalable platforms and solutions to advance the usage of analytics and democratizing the use of data across Humana.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead engineering teams responsible for building platforms and services on Azure to enable self-service capabilities for use by data scientists and data analysts across Humana.
* Lead engineering teams responsible for designing and implementing real time natural language processing pipelines and services
* Deliver scalable solutions using a customer back design thinking approach to ensure high adoption of the platforms with the least amount of friction.
* Derives adoptions of platforms that deal with big and fast data including IoT/IoMT and NLU solutions.
* Evaluates and implements new technology appropriately.
* Maintains and fosters internal client relationships. Takes ownership of the relationship and ensures that clients' objectives are met.
* Manage the team's labor and budgets including forecasts (labor and non-labor).
* Partners with Product Management to analyze customer and business requirements, and mentors and drives teams to deliver results.
* Provide leadership to a team of technology professionals, driving associate engagement initiatives, developing and managing talent, and leading change efforts.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree or above (Computer Science, Bio Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or related fields)
* At least 8+ years of overall professional experience in leading development of large-scale enterprise software systems with strategic planning, resource planning, operations management, and budgeting
* Working experience delivering solutions in a public cloud, preferably Microsoft Azure
* Experience creating and delivering complex enterprise initiatives and programs
* Experience with Analytics/ML/AI/NLP/big data analytics
* Knowledge of IoT, Internet of Things, or IoMT, Internet of Medical Things
* Experience growing and leading large teams with a mix of associates and contractors
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
