This is a remote field position based in a home office. There is flexibility for you to be based in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, PA; Columbus or Cleveland, OH; or New Jersey.
As a Customer Business Manager on the Convenience sales team, reporting to a Sales Director, you will lead the development and implementation of planning at the account level, focusing on total volume, profit and share growth primarily within our Snacks portfolio. Responsibilities include managing and updating the business plan to meet all volume, profit and share goals, along with Broker Management. You will implement brand strategies with customers by working with important decision makers and partners, and using consumer insights and category management programs to guide customer decisions. You will travel up to 40%, with a combination of day and overnight trips.
Position Responsibilities
* Develop annual strategy for the customer and present internally to gain agreement on important opportunities for growth.
* Lead the joint business planning process with the customer with a focus on strategic expertise in the categories you represent.
* Use Sales Planning tools/systems to create customer plans.
* Develop and implement trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with the customer.
* Monitor and update the customer's overall business plan, including managing trade budgets, spending and volume, to achieve all sales goals versus plan.
* Manage the Brokers that Conagra Brands has representing our products for the territory you are managing.
* Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit and spending results versus plan and use findings to maximize future promotional opportunities.
* Manage deduction balances and conduct post audits.
* Conduct category business reviews to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends and incremental opportunities.
* Use team-dedicated Category Leadership resources.
* Understand brand strategies and implement them by working with the customer's decision makers, including buyers, category managers and merchandising leaders.
* Use sound category management practices to link consumer and shopper trends and opportunities.
* Lead the customer in category reviews.
* Develop accurate monthly forecasts to maximize supply chain efficiencies by tracking shipments, consumption data and inventory changes. Call out potential risks to monthly forecasts.
* Sell-in new items to customer and work with important customer personnel to achieve distribution.
* Partner with Shopper Marketing, Business Development and Category Leadership to develop collaborative marketing programs in keeping with our brand and customer strategies.
* Identify profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume.
Position Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* 5+ years CPG industry experience, including field sales or headquarter experience
* Customer experience with Convenience or grocery retailers
* Experience conducting meetings and negotiations at high levels (ie: Senior Buyer) with the customer
* Strategic insights for the category and brands
* Supply chain knowledge
* Financial experience and comfort with P&L management
